About Christine

Christine Annie is a licensed physical therapist with more than 25 years of experience in manual therapy and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. After years of treating patients with persistent hip, back, and pelvic pain, she identified a consistent pattern: the iliacus muscle, a deep hip flexor tucked inside the pelvis, was chronically tight in nearly every patient she saw, and no existing tool could reach it effectively.

That observation led her to develop the Hip Hook, the first device engineered to apply the sustained, angled pressure required to release the iliacus from its origin point inside the pelvis. The technique draws on ischemic compression, a manual therapy method used by physical therapists, and delivers it in a form people can use at home without a clinic visit.

This discovery led to an overarching understanding of the role of muscle tension in the body, not just in the hips, but in the core areas that affect the alignment, motion, and strength throughout the body. She developed sequenced, efficient, and prioritized treatment protocols that address the missing piece in musculoskeletal health.

Over her career, Christine has built clinics, schools, and multi-disciplinary community healing spaces, treating patients ranging from high-performance athletes to people with long-standing chronic pain. She is also a yoga teacher and anatomy educator, and has maintained a dedicated meditation practice for over 10 years.

“You're not broken. You're just stuck. Tension isn't the enemy; it's information. When we learn to listen to our bodies and are empowered to know what to do to support the body, everything changes.”
