Orbit®

Most balls are too small to reach deep muscles. Rollers are too broad to localize. The Orbit hits the precise middle and primes your hips for deeper release with the Hip Hook.

DESCRIPTION

If you deal with low back pain, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, hip flexor tightness, or glute tightness, or if you've tried a foam roller or lacrosse ball without getting lasting relief, the problem is likely one of size and precision.

The psoas, piriformis, and deep hip rotators sit deep in the hip and glute complex. A foam roller is too bulky to target them effectively, and a lacrosse ball is too small to cover the full muscle belly. The Orbit's 4-inch diameter hits the precise middle: broad enough to reach the psoas and surrounding muscles, firm enough to sustain the pressure needed for a full release.

For people new to hip flexor release, or those who have never used a tool as precise as the Hip Hook, the Orbit is the recommended first step. Applying too much pressure too soon can cause muscles to tighten instead of release. The Orbit's softer, broader pressure eases you into the sensation, preparing the tissue for deeper work. This is why the Orbit is included free with every Hip Hook purchase.

The Orbit was designed by a physical therapist to work in sequence with the Hip Hook, and every session is guided step-by-step in the free app. Where the Orbit prepares and broadens, the Hip Hook targets with precision, together addressing the full hip flexor complex in the way a clinical session would.

Why Use The Orbit?

There are 3 main uses of the Orbit to support your muscle release routine

Slide image

Psoas Release

The psoas is one of the deepest muscles in the body, running from your spine down through the front of your hip. When it holds tension, it pulls your pelvis forward and throws off alignment throughout your entire body. The Orbit's size and density let you sink into this muscle above and below the hip crease, applying the sustained pressure it needs to finally let go.

Piriformis Release

Once the front of the hip starts to release, tension in the back of the hip follows. The piriformis and deep hip rotators tighten as a direct response to a tight psoas and iliacus, and they need to be released too for the hips and pelvis to fully realign. The Orbit is the right tool for the job, delivering broad, even pressure deep into the glutes to release the tension that builds up there.

Warm Up For The Hip Hook

The Orbit and the Hip Hook are designed to work together. The Orbit releases the psoas and glutes, relaxing the surrounding area and preparing the hip for deeper, more targeted work. Using the Orbit first allows the Hip Hook to access the iliacus more effectively, so when you're ready to go deeper, your body is ready, too.
